Return to Camp

Yes. The time has come. For the last two days I have been working here at Youthfront Camp South where I will serve for the first time as Camp Director this summer. Jessica is still up in the city working at Research. These next couple weeks are important for me to get ready in the office here and also outside with some projects at camp. Don’t get me wrong, I love my office buddies at Youthfront, but it’s amazing how much work I can get done just holed up here by myself. It’s also tough not being with Jess, but the light at the end of the tunnel is that she was able to work her summer schedule so that she’ll be at the hospital Sunday-Tuesday and then at camp with me Tuesday night through Saturday. That’s huge!

So at this very moment, I’m excited and nervous; prepared and unprepared. There are amazing people working here all summer and I am looking forward to being a part of the experience. Having spent 11 summers here now in some capacity I am amazed at how quickly time passes and also at how unique each summer is. God seems to be doing something different here all the time and I feel blessed and exhilarated to be caught up in it.

I can’t wait to do this with Jessica. It’s been a dream of ours to continue living and serving at this place together. If you’re interested in supporting Jessica and I as we do this work, we are always looking for people to partner with us. You can email or call me for more info. We also just got a sweet new donation page on the Youthfront website at www.youthfront.com/micahandjessica . We’re looking forward to sharing stories with you throughout the summer.

It begins.
