Death Cab and lead singer Ben Gibbard has always been impressive to me. Lately I’ve been super inspired by how Gibbard crafts his songs. The one below, Little Bribes is a really creative and fun expose on the city that never sleeps…that is Vegas of course. They released 2 EPs this year, The Open Door which has some gems on it, as well as a live show at The Palms in Vegas. I can only speculate Gibbard’s perspective on the city aptly packaged in Little Bribes came out of their experience playing music there. I very much recommend picking up both EPs from this year, having your horizons expanded by Narrow Stairs, and laying by the indoor pool this winter with Plans as your soundtrack. They’ve been around for a long time, and continue to impress. Oh and I almost forgot, one of the coolest paper-cut-out videos I’ve seen is included on the Open Door EP for the song Grapevine Fires which is a somber pretty story about Cali burning.
